NOTD- Cajun Shrimp
I bought "Cajun Shrimp" to use primarily as a toe nail polish, but have tried it out on both my hands and feet. When first applied this color is gorgeous. It's a little less pink than it is in the bottle I don't mind. But for some strange reason I can't seem to discover, it will get these dark spots in it an hour or so later. I'm not sure if its something with my top coat, or if its my instant dry reacting strangely with it. But I'll give an update if it continues to happen the next time I use it.
Hope your having a lovely day!

Update: It still does the blotches. And Its not from the quick dry so I don't know whats causing it. It seems to get worse after being exposed to more heat. Either way, kinda disappointing. Maybe I just got a bad bottle though because I can't seem to find anyone else who had this problem.

Cleaning Thrifted Items
You can find some awesome thrifted items but they might come with a funky smell or just look dirty. Obviously if it looks beyond saving leave it on the shelf, but if it just needs some TLC pick it up!
- If you can put it in the washing machine do so! Its the easiest way to clean clothes and other machine washable things you may purchase.
- Lysol is your best friend. You don't know where these items have been before they reached you. Lysol can easily disinfect those items you can't throw in the wash and also helps with any faint odors.
- Back to the odor issue. Febreze is also a nice one for absorbing those odors. Also some baking soda sprinkled in there and letting it air out.
- For the interior of purses you can't wash the outside of but look a little gross, I'd suggest this: Make sure you get any dust and such out to the best of you ability by just shaking it out and getting in the corners. Then I would just take a damp wash cloth and wipe down the insides working on any grimier areas the best. If there are any really bad spots try using a Shout wipe or something to see if that gets it out. After your done let it air dry, Lysol and your good to go.
- If your bag or item has a tear that is unnoticeable and or you think you can fix go ahead and do so. In a bag I got recently the inside pocket was coming off on one side. I took a needle and thread and quickly sewed it up. Its now functional and barley noticeable.
- For old or dirty leather use some saddle soap. This will condition and clean the leather so it looks fresher.
That is all i can think of for right now. If you have any questions leave them in the comments and I'll do my best to answer them!
Hope your having a great day!

First Time Thrifting!
I went thrifting for the first time recently! I hit up a local thrift store and also a goodwill. I think I did pretty well. It took a lot of digging but I came out with some items that I'm excited to add to my wardrobe!
I went with a main goal of finding jeans i could turn into distressed cutoffs. I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the jeans but managed to find two pairs. I think I'm only going to make one of them into shorts though. All of the jeans I tried on were skinny flares and I felt like they needed to be a bit looser in the thighs for me to make them into shorts.
These are the jeans I got to make into shorts. I think I got an awesome deal on them considering they are BCBG Max Azria and i got them for $3 at my local thrift store.
The next pair I think I'm just going to keep as jeans because they are super soft and fit like a glove. They are pair of well worn in Levi's that I got for around $5 at goodwill.
My friend actually found this dress for my when we were in Goodwill. Its from the brand Mossimo which I'm pretty sure is originally sold at Target. I got it for somewhere around $5 and it looks practically brand new. I actually just found it on the Target site for $25 so I got a deal!
I also got these cute earrings for $1.25 from my local thrift store.
Lastly my local thrift store was having a half off sale on there purses so I got these two for really cheap! Apparently I have a new thing for straw bags.

Capiezo New York purse was $3 and looks brand new.
Etienne Aigner for $2.50! Its a little beat up, but I think that gives it character.
I think I'll do another post soon about cleaning your thrifted stuff.
Hope your having an amazing day!

NOTD- Just Spotted the Lizard
"Just Spotted the Lizard" was the only color from OPI's Amazing Spiderman Collection I liked enough to buy. I think this color is really pretty I just wish it showed the same dimension on the nail as it does in the bottle. The only time it got close to the amount of blue shown in the bottle was when it had some water on it. Overall cool color but I probably wouldn't have purchased if I saw it on the nails first. I already own China Glaze "Peace on Earth" which I find a similar enough color to not own this one as well. Although I did find "Just Spotted the Lizard" to wear better. I guess that's what I get for impulse buying haha.
Going along with this post I did go and see The Amazing Spider-Man with my family a few days ago. I liked it. My brother on the other hand thought there wasn't enough action and my sister thought there was too much. I guess you can't please everyone. The one thing I can say is Peter and Gwen's relationship was one of the most awkward things to watch, so I wouldn't go if you are going for the love story.
Hope your having an amazing day!

NOTD- Significant Other Color
Here is OPI's "Significant Other Color". I'm really loving this color, it is absolutely gorgeous! I have definitely found my significant other color haha. This color also wears very well. I took these pictures a few days ago. But I wore this for probably 5 days, no top coat, and it had just started to wear and chip a little at the tips.
Hope your having a great day!

4th of July Nail Tutorial!
I wanted to do some fun 4th of July themed nails for tomorrow. I feel like every one does some variation of stars and strips so i mixed it up a bit by doing a tie-dye inspired red, white and blue nails that are reminiscent of fireworks!
How to get these nails:
1. Start by putting on your favorite base coat.
2. Apply 1 coat of white nail polish.
3. Apply red, white, and blue nail polish thickly in a sort of semi-circle strip pattern.
4. Quickly, before the nail polish starts to dry, lightly drag a tooth pick through the strips starting with the white. This will drag the colors together and create the "tie-dye" effect.
5. Use a cotton ball and nail polish remover to clean up around the edges.
6. Finish off with a top coat!
Tip: Get creative and start the pattern from different areas of your nails.
Products used:
Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat
China Glaze- Snow
Essie- Mesmerized
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength - Diamonds & Rubies
Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat
Hope your having a wonderful day!

Favorite Facial Sunscreen
As a ginger a good go to facial sunscreen is necessarily for me. Sunscreen protects the skin from sun damage and aging. In my opinion, it is something everyone should add to there daily routine. I have tried many different sunscreens and the one I would suggest is Coppertone Oil Free Faces.
The reasons I prefer this sunscreen to others is that its light, absorbs quickly, doesn't leave me feeling greasy, good on sensitive skin and has an SPF of 30. My dermatologist recommends a 30 or higher SPF, but after 30 it doesn't make much of a difference. Also this sunscreen protects from both UVA and UVB rays (broad spectrum protection), this is another thing my dermatologist advised. Another reason to love this sunscreen is the price. I shopped around online and the prices were all between $6-$10. For a really great sunscreen that is easy on the wallet I would highly suggest Coppertone Oil Free Faces.
Hope your having a great day!
